Exploring Materiality​

The decision of which materials to use throughout the scheme was driven by key values and strategies of the scheme. By following 5 key materiality values I was able to explore within a realm of understanding and have an agenda to relate back to.

1. Sourced from local contractors

2. Environmentally sustainable

3. Vernacular, material that relates to Manchester, Stratford and the public hall

4. Compliments the function of the building

5. Creates different atmospheric experiences for the user
